    IWF 2008 Visit

I enjoyed my opportunity to visit with the folks from CAMaster at the IWF show.  I went mostly to browse around and see what was new.  The only booth I had actually targeted was for the ShopBot.

I have had a longing for a home based CNC machine for a number of years, and had settled on the ShopBot as the best logical choice.  I now have the CAMaster to consider as well.  Those fellows were really proud of their machine, and it seemed to have a lot going for it.

The down side of IWF was seeing all the monster commercial CNC machines that I will never own.  Of course, I’d also hate to have to make the payments on some of those behemoths.

The CAMaster folks got my info, and I am looking forward to hearing from them.  It might be a close contests between them and ShopBot!

    Shopbot VS Camaster

    JE Melby,

With all due respect, there is no comparison between a Shopbot and a Camaster.  A Camaster CNC is so far superior to a shopbot in every way from the welded construction of the Camaster to the control system and software.  Are you going to work with your machine or play on it????  Play with Shopbot, work with Camaster.  Camaster is a truly heavy duty industrial quality piece of machinery.  Mine has serviced me well in the custom cabinet business over the last two years.  Even more important is the service and support after the sale.  Bill, Josh, Joey, Paul, and Diedra make up my extended family at Camaster.  They never leave me out in the cold.  If that's not enough, there are about 30-40 other satisfied Camheads online who would gladly help you with whatever you need.  Check out Jim McGrew.  He's the most willing and helpful cnc owner I've ever met.  We won't let you down!  We're not pushy.  We just know what we've got and wish everybody else could have it too!!!  Good luck with your decision and I hope we can soon include you as our newest Camhead!!!!

    Re: Shopbot VS Camaster

Oh yeah guys, don't forget to check out R & B Router Bit Company.  Now through September 20th they have 70% off all their bits.  I bought 10 1/4" 2spiral compression bits for 13.20 each.  Regular price 44.00.
